Toad The Wet Sprocket Uniondale Concert reviews
Word of his prowess has spread because the prior concert appeared to have an audience of close to 50% Indian folk and this concert was a lot more mixed with every type of nationality and race in attendance. Toad The Wet Sprocket is great at making audience members targets and making them feel good while he is insulting them! I was lucky to see Toad The Wet Sprocket on his last tour because he had limited performances in the United States. Everything from Spanish (both Spain and Latin America), Irish, Italian (Brooklyn and Jersey Shore), Black, Chinese, Jewish, Jamaican, Arab, Slavic and off-course Indian (that includes Guyana and Trinidadian Indians).
He plays very limited engagements, so if you can get a chance to see him in a city near you, jump on the chance! Peters brings raw energy to his performance that I have not seen since the young days of Eddie Murphy. Last night I caught his Green Card Tour show at Radio City and he again delivered one of the most brilliantly funny live performances I have ever seen. He was so gut-wrenching funny that I nearly fell on the floor laughing.
Toad The Wet Sprocket has the uncanny ability to recount experiences in different countries in such realistic fashion that the audience literally feels transported to the scene. He is also the master of the facial expression, and his body language always matches the person he is imitating. No ethnicity is off-limits to Toad The Wet Sprocket and he imitates them all with brilliant accent and flair. Hopefully, these last two concerts will come to cable or a minimum DVD. Check him out, and I am sure you will agree with me!
